About the Tweed Ride

"It's the proper and gentlemanly thing to do on a Saturday afternoon"

Please note that this is a revised schedule due to the recent flooding and closure of Credit Island Park

Modeled after the original "Tweed Runs" of London, our Tweed Ride is a leisurely bicycle ride along the scenic Davenport riverfront. It will launch from the Village Theater in the quaint Village of East Davenport and travel to Schwiebert Park in Rock Island where riders can enjoy a picnic lunch, complimentary tea, cider, and scones, with live music provided by the Quad-Cities Ukulele Club.

Following a group photo at 2pm, the riders will make a stop in Davenport for lemonade and cookies in the open grassy area of the Davenport River Center (located directly across from Crafted QC, 217 E. 2nd Street, Davenport, Iowa). This is an open time to explore downtown Davenport.

The ride will conclude back at the Village Theater in the  Village of East Davenport with an Awards Ceremony, Door Prizes, and Tweed Bike Raffle.

Cost to ride is free but a $20 donation will provide the rider with a warm fuzzy feeling, a souvenir armband, and entitlement to the awards and prize giveaways.

All funds raised go towards offsetting our costs with the balance donated to River Action to help with River Way stewardship.
